food

Enjoy delicious home cooking, freshly baked cakes, and seasonal produce. Where possible, we use organic and / or locally sourced meat and, in summer, the vegetables are increasingly from our own garden. We also do our best to support artisan producers locally and in the surrounding area.

Laid back breakfast

Take your time over a leisurely breakfast, available from 8am until 10am (9.30am in winter). There are two breakfast options depending on your appetite and budget:

  1. Continental breakfast: choice of tea, coffee, or herbal tea; bread and jam; fruit juice.
  2. Hearty breakfast: choice of tea, coffee, herbal tea or hot chocolate; bread and jam, fresh fruit, yogurt, fruit juice and cereals; and a daily changing special (available until 9am). One day it might be croissants, fried eggs or French toast, another, porridge or scotch pancakes with bilberries and crème fraiche.
Continental breakfast 5 euros per person

Hearty breakfast 10 euros per person (included if you book direct with us)

Picnic lunches (summer only)

If you’re going off on a long walk or exploring the local area, take one of our picnic lunch bags with you. They include a sandwich, fresh fruit, crisps, and a slice of home-made cake or biscuits. If you’re planning a lazy afternoon, we can include a bottle of wine, corkscrew and optional ice pack.

Picnic 10 euros per person (house wine 15€ extra, cava 25€ extra) - 24 hours notice required

Scrumptious tea & cake

Sit down to a lovely slice of homemade cake or mouthwatering biscuits either your room, in the garden, or in front of the fire in the sitting room. To wash it down, help yourself to tea, organic herbal teas or coffee from the complimentary hot drinks tray in your room (guests who book direct only).

Afternoon cake or biscuits 5 euros per person (subject to availability - please try to book at breakfast if you can)

Delicious evening meals

Six evenings a week, we prepare a home-cooked three course dinner with wine included. Before your meal in summer, we serve nibbles and aperitifs in front of the fire or outside on the terrace if the weather is fine. Following supper, we serve coffee, tea or herbal tea in front of the fire in the living room. Dinner can be booked before your arrival, or at breakfast on the day subject to availability.

We use organic, free range and / or locally sourced meat where possible, and support artisan producers when we can. In summer, most of our vegetables come from our own organic garden. Our French and Spanish house wines come from small traditional producers, and the Spanish wine is made with organic grapes. We also stock a small selection of unusual local wines if you want to try something different (ask to see the wine list).

Examples of the three-course set menu, served family-style around the large dining room table, include dishes such as spinach and pea gnocchi with crispy sage and a burnt butter sauce; home grown butternut squash soup; local lamb slowly roasted with herbs, root vegetables and wine; lemon and fennel risotto with crispy organic lardons; tartiflette with farmhouse reblouchon cheese. For pudding, try sticky toffee pudding and caramel sauce; home made fromage blanc and ginger ice cream with almond shortbread; or a selection of local cheeses.

Dinner: 25 euros (3 courses) / 35 euros (3 courses + wine and hot drinks) - 24 hours notice required and subject to availability. Children under 16, 15 euros (2 course early children's supper, served at 6pm).
