local alpine walks

Wander through flower-filled meadows, explore unspoilt alpine villages or hike up into the rugged mountains of the Vanoise National Park – all direct from our doorstep.

We can recommend lots of local walks for all levels and lend you maps. For an easy flat stroll, there’s a lovely cycle/walking path alongside the Isere river 1km away from the house (it runs for 15kms between Aime and Bourg St Maurice). For a more challenging walk up into the high pastures, you can join the GR5 passing by in front of the house. This is a long distance footpath crossing through the Alps.

We also offer alpine self-guided walking holidays as a package - either with the farmhouse as the base, or taking a circular route staying in B&Bs along the way. These include detailed walking notes, baggage porterage (for point to point walks), picnic lunches and evening meals. We're happy to tailor-make an itinerary for you based on your interests, level and length of stay.
