mountain biking in the Alps

Les Arcs and La Plagne offer a massive choice of fabulous lift-accessed riding for both downhill and cross-country mountain bikers – and the lifts are less than 10 mins drive from the farmhouse.

Les Arcs is also home to a Bike Park with purpose built North Shore, Slopestyle and Four Cross runs and 150km of way marked downhill routes. For the more independently-minded, there are also hundreds of miles of beautiful alpine tracks through forests, glacial valleys and farming villages.

If technical single track descents are your thing, there is a huge amount in the mountains and forests of Les Arcs behind the house. Much is lift-accessible in season (July and August). We also have close contacts with several excellent local guides who will take you out on hidden trails for a half day, day or even a week (see our mountain biking packages).

A bit further afield, you can follow in the tracks of HEIDI (High Exposure Isere Descent Itinerary) – a 60km off-road route descending from Europe’s highest road pass, the Col de l’Iseran at nearly 3000m, through stunning back country surroundings, right down to the floor of the Isere Valley. If it tickles your fancy, join one of our self-guided day trips (includes map, transport to the start and a packed lunch).
