During this active yoga walking week in the French Alps, suitable for all levels, you’ll combine walking with tailored yoga sessions that will help improve your core body strength and overall flexibility. By the end of your stay, you’ll feel the benefits both mentally and physically, leaving feeling fitter and revitalised.About the week
Ease into your day in the mountains with a dynamic 60 minute early morning yoga session with a focus on yoga poses (known as “asanas”) that help build strength, and improve your balance and overall flexibility. Fuel up on a hearty breakfast, and then head out into the fresh air and mountains.
You can either go at your own pace on one of self-guided walks through the surrounding meadows and forests, or alternatively, you can join an accompanied group walk with one of your hosts. They’ll take you up into the Vanoise National Park, famous for its ibex, bearded vultures and rare alpine flora, or off to explore lesser known walks in this beautiful area.
If you fancy more of an adrenalin buzz, you can also try white water rafting, mountain biking or cycling – all within easy reach of the chalet.
On your return, unwind on a deckchair in the garden, or for a bit of extra indulgence, take timeout in the sauna, or book a massage and spa treatment in your room. In the late afternoon, join a restorative yoga session to help your body rest and repair itself more effectively. After that, you have some more free time before sitting down to a delicious vegetarian dinner prepared using produce from our organic garden (meat options possible).
It’s an intensive, invigorating week of walking and yoga that will leave you feeling refreshed and ready for anything.

Equipment hire, flights and insurance are not included. Holiday cancellation insurance is strongly recommended. Please bring outdoor clothing suitable for the alpine environment.
Your yoga instructor
The yoga is led by Johanna Paxton, a qualified yoga instructor with a practical and informative teaching approach. She is able to adapt the sessions to suit all levels from beginner to expert yogis and is a firm believer in the physical health benefits of yoga such as increased strength, vitality and co-ordination.
Johanna’s personal style of yoga is inspired by a mixture of Ashtanga, Classical and Scaravelli forms of Hatha Yoga. She is also a qualified practitioner of Thai Yoga Massage and is currently studying for a three-year Diploma in Shiatsu. Passionate about nature, martial arts and the great outdoors, when not practicing yoga, Johanna can be found outside walking or on her mountain bike in summer, or on skis in winter.
